How do I use the Hemslojd, Inc online ordering system?

Buying online is very easy at the Hemslöjd. Just follow these step-by-step instructions to learn how to shop at our site.

    New Customers/Guests

  • Step #1: Find a product you wish to view by browsing through Hemslöjd"s online categories. Use the links on the left-hand side of each shopping cart page to navigate through the site and review our list of online products with descriptions.
  • Step #2: If you know the item numbers of the products you are interested in, you may use the "Quick Order" option by clicking on "Store Front" above. Simply enter the product code you are interested in and then click the "add one" button to place the item in your shopping basket.
  • Step #3: If there is an item you wish to purchase, add it to your shopping cart by clicking on the "Buy One Now" or "Add to Basket" button.
  • Step #4: Once you are finished shopping, click on the “Checkout” button found in the upper right-hand corner of your browser’s screen.
  • Step #5: You will then be prompted to register, if you have not already signed in. You may choose to purchase as a guest, but you must provide Hemslöjd with a minimum of information so that we may begin to process your order. (see our privacy policy)

Choose a Member ID as well as a password. Enter your billing information. This includes both your shipping and billing address.

  • Step #6: Review your order by double-checking the products listed in your basket.
  • Step #6: Select credit card type and enter appropriate credit card information. Click on the “Submit” button. Print the final page for your records. Your secure order information is sent to Hemslöjd. Should you have questions, simply contact us by telephone or email and we will be glad to assist you. Thank you for shopping online with Hemslöjd! You will receive an email confirmation of your order.

Returning Customers with Member ID

Can I place a gift order?

We can ship gifts directly to your friends or family. If you’d like a personal gift message included with the shipment, please note that in the "Comments" area when you order. Small, attractive greeting cards are available at an extra cost. Personalization of the cards is included in the cost.

Do you charge sales tax on orders?

We are required to collect sales tax on orders delivered to Kansas addresses. Sales tax for orders shipped to Kansas addresses is automatically calculated into the order total when ordering. Shipping & handling charges are taxable in Kansas. Check your state tax laws regarding “Use Tax.”

How do you I contact Customer Service?

To make returns or exchanges, or if there is a problem with your order, refer to the instructions included in the package, or call 1-800-779-3344. Outside the U.S., please call 1-785-227-2983. All packages delivered by UPS and USPS Priority are insured against loss or damage in shipment. Report any damages to Hemslöjd at once. Save the carton and packaging for UPS or USPS inspection until the claim is settled.

Price Changes

Prices are as stated on the Hemslöjd website. Prices in our annual catalog are subject to change due to fluctuations in the values of the U.S. dollar and Swedish krona, as well as vendor price changes. While we try to honor our originally published prices, if there is a price increase on an item you order, we will notify you before filling the order.

We offer online secure shopping for your safety. Your credit card information is privately protected by state-of-the-art encryption software.

Why can't I see any product images in your website?

Individual browser settings, third-party add-ons, security software or certain settings on your computer itself are possible causes. We have tested our website on the majority of the major browsers, including older versions of the most popular browsers for compatibility, but there may be slight variations in display from one browser or operating system to another.

The following may assist you with browsing issues, such as the inability to view pictures online:

  • Make sure your browser software is up-to-date.
  • Check your browser settings to verify that the show pictures option is enabled.
  • Consider clearing temporary Internet files via Internet Options in your browser.
  • If you have the Toggle Images.exe Web accessory installed, click the Toggle Images.exe link on the Links toolbar to turn on images.
  • Verify that Show Pictures has not been turned off in Internet Explorer: On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. Click the Advanced tab, and then verify that the Show Pictures check box is selected under Multimedia.
  • Make sure scripting, ActiveX controls, cookies, and Java applets are enabled.
  • If you are using third-party add-ons or Internet security software, firewalls, or cookie blocking programs, double-check the settings.
  • Try using a different browser - the most popular include Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

What should I do if my package does not arrive or there is an error?

Package has not arrived: Hemslöjd would be glad to check the status of your package. Call (785-227-2983) or email swedes@hemslojd.com with your question. If you would like to check the status of your package directly, once your order has been shipped, go to your account page to track your order.

What if there is an error on my order?

If an item or items ordered do not arrive in your package, first please review your receipt to make sure the order was correct. Next, contact Hemslöjd as soon as possible, phone (785-227-2983) or email swedes@hemslojd.com. Customer service representatives will address the error immediately. If the wrong item was shipped to you, Hemslojd will either send you a mailing label to use with the box we sent, or will send you a new box with a label to return the item.
