A collection of essays for Nordstjernan, written in the clear-eyed and uncompromising style that has earned Kirchdorfer a loyal following. Born in Sweden and raised both in Europe and the U.S.

Ulf Kirchdorfer is as Swedish American as we come. Ulf, who has a PhD in English, is currently teaching modern American literature and English composition at Darton College. In 2001 he was selected as the Carnegie Foundation U.S. Professor of the Year for the State of Georgia, and in 1996-1998 served as Board of Regents Distinguished Professor of Teaching and Learning. Ulf writes regularly for Nordstjernan, the Swedish American newspaper, where his eloquent commentary has become a popular addition to news, trivia, traditions and other regular content. He keeps all of us-Swedes, Americans and Swedish Americans on track - with wit and a keen mind as well as a foot on each side of the Atlantic.
