That means it's easier to butter your warm toast or corn-on-the-cob without the butter slipping around as it does on a metal knife blade. It's also great for spreading peanut butter, jam, jelly, mayo, or cream cheese, or for stirring soup or leftovers warmed up in the microwave. As it's naturally gentle on non-stick finishes and is heat-resistant it can be used for small stirring jobs while you're cooking, too. Handwashing is best.
