The traditional Swedish version is called a "Mora" Clock. This curvy wooden clock, covered with traditional decoration, is named for the town of Mora in Dalarna, nestled on the northwestern shore of Lake Siljan. First made in this colorful and traditional style centuries ago, the beautiful clock would stand in a place of honor in the home. It was often the finest and most prized possession a family owned. Mora Clocks, both small and full-sized, are still made in Dalarna today. Ours comes from the same workshop that makes traditional Dala horses. Here we offer their miniature size, nice to display on a shelf or mantle. The front of the clock is covered with colorful and exuberant traditional "kurbits" Swedish folk-painting. It has an accurate quartz-movement. (AAA-battery included.) 14" tall overall, with a base that is 5-7/8" wide x 2-1/2" deep. Made and decorated by the craftsmen at the Nils Olsson Hemslöjd, Nusnäs, Dalarna, Sweden.
